Besides earning stars for free stuff, you also get a free birthday drink. So make sure to enter your birthday when you create your account.
One thing to keep in mind is that it has to be on the day of your birthday. There's no cushion.
Remember your Password!
The app usually will keep you logged into your account, so every time you open it you'll be good to go.
Sometimes it logs you out though. And when are you most likely to notice? Right as you're about to pay!
So remember your password. Otherwise you'll be embarrassed and apologize several times. Unless you're like that one customer who got angry and just drove off screaming to tell the manager how Starbucks sucks. Of course i relayed the message. We always liked to make each other laugh.
MAKE EVERY DAY DOUBLE-STARS DAY
The main way to earn stars is to buy something. You also can earn stars with offers.

By selecting Scan only at the top and then scanning the app before you pay, you can earn 1 star for every dollar you spend - regardless of how you pay. |

Even better... if you have loaded money into your account and you pay that way (select Scan and pay), you will earn 2 stars for every dollar you spend.
Pro Tip: You don't even have to keep money in your account. You can load it while you're waiting in line. Or tell the barista you want to load money into your account before ordering. Then you'll be able to pay with the app. |

Look for special offers on the home page when you first open the app. You also can see your active offers by pressing the OFFERS button on the bottom row.
Remember that most offers need to be activated before you can earn the bonus points. It's easy though - just press the offer's activation button |
There's another, really easy way to earn stars. Bring your own mug. Besides getting a 10-cent personal cup discount on your drink, you'll also get an extra 25 points.

The HOME page of the app tells you how many stars you have.
Stars generally expire about 6 months after you earn them.

After pressing DETAILS, you'll need to scroll down to see the list of how many stars will expire each coming month. |

Combine balances of multiple cards into one.

To view your card(s) on the app, press the SCAN button on the bottom row. |

You can swipe left and right to switch cards.
On any card, press MANAGE for a whole slew of things you can do, including transferring balances from one card to another in order to combine all card values onto one card. |
View your history - such as purchases and stars earned (and leave a tip)...

To view your history, press the icon near the top right side of the HOME page. |

You can view a record of your purchases, earned stars, stars redeemed, etc.
By selecting a purchase, you can view a receipt. If you do this shortly after the purchase, you'll also be able to leave a tip. |
